Our Global Technology Manager, Jens Potreck and X-Flow's R&D Technology Manager, Stefan Koel presented their knowledge during IMSTEC2020. IMSTEC stands for International Membrane Science & Technology Conference, is attended by industry and academic leaders and focuses on advances in all areas of membrane science and technology. The educational program of this conference focuses in particular on water treatment, food processing, energy production and material characterisation.
Stefan shared his knowledge during the conference about the Helix flux enhancement technology developed by X-Flow. An enthusiastic participant indicated that this is finally a technology that can compete with submerged.
Jens' presentation during the Industrial workshops focused on the upcoming launch of the 75m2 UF membrane element. While industry leaders responded enthusiastically to this innovative and highly competitive membrane element, academics expressed their appreciation for the practical explanation of why a membrane module should not exceed a certain weight. "At the University, no attention is paid to this matter," said one of them.
During a brainstorming session of the Industrial workshop for 30 invited industry leaders and academics, Stefan was invited to participate in a discussion on how these worlds can work more effectively together and where valuable research opportunities can be created. Stefan was also asked to give a presentation on ultrafiltration as a pretreatment for SWRO.
